In the midst of the reactions to the show’s cancellation, one fan, Sarah, decided to start a GoFundMe to channel the reactions into actions. The GoFundMe’s goal was to bring awareness to the show by purchasing billboards in various cities calling for a revival of Warrior Nun. With the help of multiple professionals and project organizers, the GoFundMe has raised over $42,000 to date. Below are some of the results of the fantastic fundraising efforts.

Los Angeles

The first billboard funded by Warrior Nun fans went up in Los Angeles, at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Van Ness Avenue, i.e., right across the street from Netflix’s LA corporate offices. The billboard immediately captured the attention of the show’s cast and crew, and several made trips to take selfies with the fan-funded project, including showrunner Simon Barry, actress Kristina Tonteri-Young, producer David Hayter, writer Brenden Gallagher, and singer AMES. Other cast and crew tweeted their support for the LA billboard, including director Sarah Walker, producer Dean English, composer Tangelene Bolton, actor William Miller, actress Sylvia De Fanti, actress Meena Rayann, and actor Tristán Ulloa. On 4th February 2023, a group of Warrior Nun fans from all over the country met up at the billboard, making memories of a lifetime with new friends.

New York City

But the fans didn’t stop in Los Angeles. With the money raised from the GoFundMe, project organizers were able to purchase a digital billboard in New York City, right across the street from the New York Times headquarters. With another billboard now up on the East Coast, another group of Warrior Nun fans from all across the country (and the world) gathered to meet under the billboard and make new friends on 25th February 2023.

London

Having now conquered both coasts of the United States, the fans decided to cross the pond and purchased a total of five digital boards in London, England, making the #SaveWarriorNun campaign international. One of these boards was right across the street from Harrods, in a high-traffic area. A group of European Warrior Nun fans met up on 4th March 2023, to visit all five boards, and they even made a stop by Buckingham Palace.

People from all over the world have been inspired to join forces to #SaveWarriorNun. When the Italian OCS chapter announced its billboard in Italy, the fandom reacted with excitement, and several articles were written about the billboard. It also demonstrated how a regional group of fans could come together and make a difference on their own. The Italy billboard is a symbol of the globalised nature of Warrior Nun fans and makes international fans feel seen around the globe.

The billboard was placed on Corso Buenos Aires, one of Milan's busiest streets, to raise awareness for the campaign to save the show. As of 13 March 2023, the billboard was still up and running.

Italian fans organised the effort to locate and secure the billboard in order to show their support for the show and bring Italian fans together. Fans also organised a meet-up at the billboard on March 18, where they had the opportunity to meet each other and share their love of the show.
