LETTER TO MY FELLOW HALO BEARERS (2)

Dear Halo Bearers,

If you are reading this, welcome to day 100 of the #SaveWarriorNun campaign! It has been a hundred days since the #SaveWarriorNun campaign kicked off. A hundred days of fighting to get our show, Warrior Nun, back for more seasons.

It has been quite the journey from that sunset Instagram post. So many things have happened in the 100 days of our campaign. We put up billboards and we have had so many articles about Warrior Nun and this campaign. We hit 10 million #SaveWarriorNun tweets and had a Twitter space to celebrate that milestone. We had Simon, KTY and William in that same Twitter space. We have had billboard meet-ups in the USA and the UK. My first Letter To My Fellow Halo Bearers was not just received well but was also translated into Italian. An Italian translation! Honestly, I am still very much excited that something I wrote was translated into Italian. What we have accomplished in 100 days is everything to be proud of.

This has been a community effort by everyone. However, I feel that we must acknowledge some members of this community for their efforts so far in this campaign. Had, Ari, Boop and the team behind the phrases and the break day tags for always having a phrase or tag ready for us, Jereczko and Agnes for keeping count of our tweets and days, Eva and crab_pringles for the Warrior Nun website, the billboard crew, the OCS Newsletter team, Maisel and her team for the Instagram takeover campaign, the Research and Data team, and every single member of all the OCS chapters and teams for their spectacular work. This list is shorter than it should be, but those not mentioned here are no fewer heroes than those mentioned. These people, despite what they have going on in their lives, have taken it upon themselves to go the extra mile for this campaign. The very least we, as human beings, can do is be grateful. As Halo Bearers, the least we can do is to support them, let them know they are appreciated and do our best not to make things difficult for them.

And also, to you and I, to us. To every single one of us. To all of us tweeting, retweeting, commenting, sharing posts, creating memes and video edits, getting our families and friends to watch this show and just taking part in this campaign. This campaign would not have gotten to those ten million tweets without you. And we definitely would not still be going strong on day 100 without you. Every single one of us is important to this campaign. Every milestone, every accomplishment, and every progress we make is because of you and I. So to every Halo Bearer reading this, we are here at day 100 because of YOU.

100 days is a long time to dedicate to something. So the question is: Why? Why are we, a hundred days later, still fighting for this show? I started this because Warrior Nun never deserved the cancellation and there are still so many stories left to tell. But now, it is beyond season three. For me, it is for the friends I have made here. It is for the lettuce group. I fight because this is what brought these friends to me. I fight because every day, I come online and I see so many people this show means so much to me. I fight for William who literally tweets about this movement every morning. I fight for Simon who has been with us, giving us hope by letting us know that there is something to fight for. I fight for this fandom that lights up whenever there is a new KTY or Lorena Cameo video. I fight for this fandom and its diversity, openness and acceptance. I fight for a future where we go from #SaveWarriorNun to #WarriorNunIsSaved or #WarriorNunS3. This is what has gotten me to day 100. This is what will take me beyond day 100. Why are YOU fighting? Whatever your reasons for fighting are, always remember them. We have a goal. We have our reasons. We have each other. We can do this.

We have gotten to the ten million tweets milestone. We set up our own billboards. We have our own website. We have organized meetups amongst ourselves. We have gotten interviews with the crew members, the cast and even BTS shots.  And today, we are at day 100. What else does the future hold for us? I am excited about our future as a fandom. I am excited about the milestones we are yet to break. I am excited about the growth this fandom can and will go through. I am excited about the interviews and BTS shots still to come. I am excited because we have accomplished so much and we will still accomplish even more. The future holds a lot of promise for us, and I can’t wait to experience that future with you all.

Not everyone here on day 100 was here on day 1 and that is okay. We have gotten more people streaming Warrior Nun and also involved in the #SaveWarriorNun campaign. Not everyone that started this journey on day 1 is still here on day 100 and that is okay. What matters is that we are here. What matters is that we are still here. What matters is that we do not let our fight go forgotten. What matters is that we stay united as friends and as a fandom. What matters is that we remember to stay kind to each other. What matters is that we do not lose sight of what matters.

My fellow Halo Bearers, stay strong. Stay united. Stay hopeful.

What you, me, and this movement are is beautiful.

Yours on day 100,

M.E.Stanley
