Haloed Art: FanArt Book For Charity Update
Thank You Warrior Nun Family
We just want to say the biggest thank you for all your support with the FanArt Book for Charity. It is with a fulfilled heart that we can say this project has come to an end.
In total: 315 Books Sold and $2,763 raised for the nonprofit organization Covenant House from 31 countries.
Every year 4.2 million youth face homelessness in the United States, and your generosity has helped thousands of young people have a safe place to sleep.
After talking with the Haloed Art Team, we want to say even though this project has come to a close, we would like to honor your contributions by giving back.
Representation is so important, and in many countries across the world, it is not accessible. Multiple countries will fine, jail, and kill people in our community solely due to their identity. Governments are not allowing LGBTQIA+ people the same access and rights and continue to try and silence us. Because of these atrocities, we acknowledge there might be some who are unable to purchase a book due to it not being safe.
We also understand that not everyone has the financial means to purchase an actual copy of the book. A lot of people are struggling and the organization we donated to for this campaign is a testament to that.
But that shouldn’t stop you from having access to this beautiful commemoration of the fight we fought together. A fight for sapphic representation in the media. A fight against executives saying people who love like us, and identify like us, do not deserve to see ourselves within the mainstream media.
As an additional way of fighting back against discrimination and hatred, we will be providing a free eBook download of the Warrior Nun fanart book so everyone can have access and see the talented submissions from people all over the world. We will not be silenced, no matter how hard they try.
