Haloed Art: FanArt Book For Charity
First and foremost, thank you to all 33 Warrior Nun Fan Artists for your incredible contributions to the fanart book! Your talent and passion have made this project truly amazing. We are thrilled to announce that we are raising funds for Covenant House, an organization that supports LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness.
This project was, personally, special to me because I believe creativity is the driving force behind shows, like Warrior Nun, and its revival. When you continue a story through your own artistic medium, it lives on far past the expiration date a network might set, keeping stories alive and relevant for years to come. I encourage all of you to continue creating, whether it's drawing, painting, stories, edits, music, or any other form of expression, because what you do truly matters. Your passion and voice inspire and impact others in profound ways.
Another way we can show our support for creatives is by looking into ways to help during the strikes for fair pay by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). These organizations play vital roles in supporting artists in the entertainment industry, and standing with them in their efforts is essential.

September 14, 2023: The first $1,500 sent to Covenant House
In November 2023: $966.94 will be sent to Covenant House (will update when sent)
For every hardcover complete edition sold, Covenant House will receive $10.

It's a tangible representation of the passion and creativity poured into the project, making it a keepsake to treasure and revisit time and time again. It will not only celebrate the collective talent of the fan artists but also create a lasting connection between you and the incredible world of Warrior Nun's fanart.
-For every paperback complete edition sold, Covenant House will receive $5.
This book includes: 37 artists, 142 pages, 9 chapters, 120 pieces of art, including special submissions by the original comic creator Ben Dunn and Warrior Nun show producer Dean English.
Our goal is to continue doing meaningful projects like this in the future to support various causes. 📚🎨🌈

30 Aug 2023 UPDATE
Hi everyone,
So, the vote has been finalized. Since then, we have had multiple conversations with different artists & people in our community. We have seen your comments & appreciate your concerns & support in all of this.
Ultimately, a few things have been decided over the past week. First and foremost, we WILL be removing the book from the website. Due to the vote being to leave it up. We will be giving September for people to make their purchases.
October 1st, 2023, we will REMOVE the book entirely off the website.
This decision is a difficult one but feels the fairest. It gives an opportunity for people to make their purchases, but also keeps from indefinitely supporting a system we acknowledge creatives are fighting against in AI.
We have made several changes to the book. We have replaced quite a few AI pieces with art submitted in the past week. So, there are still AI pieces in the book, but a significantly less amount.
Another issue to address. We do not feel comfortable calling out individuals over their submissions. For a few reasons.
We hope the individuals submitted their pieces with no ill intention towards artists, but out of love for the show we all love.
We personally reached out to quite a few people about submitting their pieces. So there is a really great chance we are the reason they have pieces in the book in the first place.
We never set rules on this book of what we would accept. At the time it wasn’t something we knew about. We have since been educated on the damaging effects of AI to the creative community & will aim to do better in the future vetting pieces.
We will hopefully create another volume of the fan-art book once the trilogy is out so we can continue to support great causes. We will also let everyone know the total raised for charity in October & release the receipt of donation once it’s been sent.
**Please understand that may take a bit, because we do not get paid from the site instantly.
We want to thank every artist for submitting their art & every person who purchased a book. This cause is greater than Warrior Nun. You will make an impact on lgbtqia+ youth facing homelessness & trafficking.
Warrior Nun has brought us together for so many amazing reasons. We are grateful for this just being one of the many charitable driven situations.

27 Aug 2023 Update
It has been brought to our attention in the past few days that AI ‘art’ had been submitted to the fanart book. We have discussed in length the options we have.
Now that we are aware, we are acknowledging and making note in the book that AI supported pieces are included. We do not feel anyone had ill intentions with their submissions, but we also acknowledge that people in the industry are fighting tirelessly to control their image and art.
We want to support them in this fight.
Due to not having parameters around what type of submissions we would accept stated initially, for this specific book we will not be retroactively excluding submissions.
In the future, we will make stronger guidelines of what is and isn’t acceptable if we create another edition. We want to support artists and never want to take away from the hard work and effort they put in to their craft as well as supporting the ongoing strikes.
This book was created with the purpose of supporting a charity while also providing a memory piece for the fandom, and we have done amazing work with that.
So far we have raised $2,250.
I will be creating a poll so the fandom can decide our next steps. We can either:
*Stop selling the book which will conclude the charity drive. Book will be removed from the website on September 15th.
*Leave it available and continue the charity drive understanding there will be AI pieces included.
We want to respect everyone’s choice in this. So as a community we will decide.
At the end of the day we’re still very proud of what we created and the good it will do for charity.
