Meet the Vendors Series: An inside look at the fan-run stores for HaloBearerUK Part 5

Meet the Vendors Series Part 5 - Fanverse london

This week the OCS Newsletter is highlighting the vendors at the upcoming HaloBearerUK Convention. The goal of this series is to introduce you to each of these #WarriorNun fandom members and the love, work, and dedication that goes into bringing you their amazing creations.

We have had the privilege of getting to know them and see their journey the past few months. Some of the questions and situations they must deal with just to prepare for an event are eye opening. How do you make money when you have to pay to be there? How do you balance attendance numbers and their limited extra funds while making sure you have stock, the right sizes, and other vendors while trying to not lose money. Every single vendor has had to face these questions along with creating their merchandise all while living their full-time life. So, take a few minutes to read about their journey and make sure to check out their tables Feb. 23-25.

OCS: A little About yourselves?

My journey began as a hobby in 2017 making my ideas a reality. The first show was The 100, it’ll hold a special place for me, especially with what had happened with the show, and being part of the fandom made me want to create something physical which people could remember.

I began seeing that a lot for fandoms weren't being represented enough, so I started trying to create custom apparel for them too.

I have also collaborated with some amazing artists from across the world to showcase their artwork at conventions and online

OCS: How did you discover Warrior Nun?

A couple of friends suggested it to me after the first season had aired.

OCS: What made you want to fight to save the show?

The story, characters and whole production was amazing, it kept me hooked for season 2 which I binge watched when it released, hearing the news after it had great reviews, it deserved to have another season.

OCS: How did you get into crafting?

I feel I’ve always been creative, and seeing the response to my very first jersey, I felt I done something right, it gave me the confidence to carry on.

OCS: Have you done other conventions before? Which Ones?

We’ve done quite a mix of conventions

MCM Comic Con - London

London Film and Comic Con

Unity days - Vancouver

Conageddon - Boston

EH-Con - Toronto

Fanfusion/Earpfusion

What made you decide to be a vendor at HaloBearerUK con?

I’ve been to previous Fanfusion Cons and thought it would be great as I’ve also seen the show.

OCS: What are some of the items you will be selling?

Most of our stuff is custom made so they’re made at the con.

Jerseys

Custom T-shirts

Prints

SnapBacks

OCS: Can you talk about the process for making one of your favorite items?

Making custom apparel is probably my favourite, for example creating a unique tshirt, on the spot for people as they are at the con and to see the smile on their face when they receive it is everything to me.

OCS: How much time have you put into con prep?

I’d say a couple of months, most of my time goes into designing the items, what I think would work, colours, significant items from the show. Once I’m happy they get sent to my supplier for printing, I then work on tie dying custom tees so they are ready for the show

OCS: If people would like more information about your products after the con, where can they go?
