Armed. Dangerous. A Coptic Nun and a Sister Warrior. Yasmine Amunet is a brilliant addition to the covert Order of the Cruciform Sword. Her tech skills make her formidable, but her driving skills make her dangerous.
Between dodging pot holes and carting around clergy, Yasmine (alias Meena Rayann) took the time to sit down for an OCS Newsletter exclusive and clear the air.
Right away, Yasmine is quick to assert her innocence.
“I never intended to hack the Vatican.” she says shifting restlessly in her chair aware of the scrutiny she is under. The OCS Newsletter won’t let her get away that easily.
We impress upon her the controversial significance of her actions, but she refuses to supply more information. A tough case!
“It was the only way to complete my mission.” she adds and we relent. A mission? Intruiging, but certainly a subject for another day. For now, we’ll stick to the heist.
Our first question is the most obvious: Why did they let you drive the getaway van? Yasmine sat up a little straighter. “I have an encyclopedic knowledge of these streets. It made sense...at the time.”
And the heist? Was she, perhaps, “persuaded” to join the Order at the Prado? “Certainly not.” she huffs. “I’m not a hostage. I’m a Sister Warrior!”
The OCS Newsletter can’t help but agree, however the question remains: how did she end up the getaway driver for a gaggle of nuns?
“It’s simple.” Yasmine says firmly.
“Sister Warriors don’t run.”
SHE MEENA BUSINESS
While Yasmine might be quiet, studious, and a bit inexperienced in the field, Meena Rayann is just the opposite. Quirky, bubbly, and with a charismatic presence she charms the OCS Newsletter crew into a two hour interview!
You’ve seen the interview, but we’ve added an exclusive question for our readers!
OCS: A year and a half, is it hard to jump back into the character?
Meena: No. I mean, no, there's there's a few things that I remember after I talked to people and I’m like, oh, actually there was this. And I remember it like later on. But most of the time, I mean, it’s so vivid, it was so I guess it was so intense. And it was so such a joyful experience, even though there were a lot of like, very difficult moments. But um, no, I very much remember a lot of things. I mean, there are a lot of things that I guess are not at the forefront of my mind. But I still very much like she’s she’s so close to my heart as well. And that whole experience is so close to me. I loved it so much. I guess it’s just, it’s there. If it makes sense.
OCS: One of the things [Simon] mentioned is essentially, we had the possibility of Dark Ava. So we were wondering what, in this scenario, what do you think Yasmin's decision would have been? What do you think she would have done in this scenario?
Meena: “I think Yasmin would have stayed with OCS because I think she would have tried to understand what can be done to like, make sure that things don't stay that way. That we get back Ava. I think that's what Yasmine does, she goes deep into the heart of the matter, to untie the knots and the root and she doesn't just fight her way she finds a solution to cure all of it not just treat the symptoms. I think that's what Yasmine does. So yeah, I think she would have stayed with the OCS and definitely tried to find a way to make things better.”
“I guess from my point of view, that's what makes life worth living, you know, the connections that we make along the way and fighting for them. 100%” -Meena Rayann
Meena’s Final Thoughts
“Well, I'm very proud to have been part of it. And whatever happens if I can still be part of it, that would be bloody amazing. If I can't, it will be an amazing memory for me. And, you know, friendships for life? I think so. Yeah. And an amazing community that came out of it as well. Like, I'm very, very happy and proud to have been part of it.”
