It clings to the growing pool of blood, the sharp now broken-shaped metal; peeled at your porcelain.

I’d scramble, looking for your lost eyes, tumbling to keep us upright, as you continued to slip in ways I would continue to deny.

Pleading that it was alright, you’d be back,

I refuse.

For it would be in this life that I save you.
